Here in Rurberg, we offer several apartments in one house, designed to make our guests’ holidays as pleasant and relaxing as possible.
With e-bikes and an outdoor sauna
(available for an additional charge), guests can enjoy even more comfort.
There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy,
including hiking, cycling, sailing, fishing, canoeing and swimming at the free natural swimming area (about a 10-minute walk away).
Or simply unwind on the balcony, loggia or spacious terrace of your booked apartment.
Lake Rursee and the boat landing are just a 10-minute walk away .
The apartments include a bicycle storage room (outdoor room),
conveniently accessible from the front courtyard. It’s the ideal place to start and end your activities (walking, cycling, hiking...), and a great convenience in less-than-ideal weather. From here, you can reach the apartments without getting wet.
Our private
outdoor sauna is available for guests to share, so you can enjoy some relaxation even when the weather is bad.
Shops and other amenities are available in the nearby town of Simmerath, about a 10-minute drive away.

“Rursee in Flammen”
The popular folk festival “Rursee in Flammen” finally celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2022.
The festivities don’t end when the last colourful firework fades away—the lively entertainment along the lakeside streets continues late into the night.
When St Nicholas comes across the lake
On the first three weekends of Advent, more than 20 Christmas market stalls open their doors, offering all kinds of delicious and tempting treats, along with plenty of festive atmosphere. On Saturdays from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, the Christmas market invites you to stroll, browse, shop and enjoy. Our younger visitors are well catered for, too: At every market, as darkness falls, St. Nicholas makes a spectacular arrival by boat across the neighbouring Eiserbachsee lake. This musical spectacle puts more than just the children in a reflective mood. St. Nicholas brings a surprise for every child in his well-filled sack of gifts. The stalls offer a colourful and varied selection: handmade wooden, fabric and woollen goods; beeswax products, jewellery, Christmas wreaths and arrangements, Erzgebirge crafts and all kinds of other gifts, such as silk scarves, printed textiles and more.
