The Rurberg Christmas Market is taking place in accordance with the current Corona Protection Ordinance of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. On the first three Advent weekends, more than 20 Christmas market stalls will open their doors, offering all sorts of delicious and tempting treats, along with a festive atmosphere. The Christmas market square is bustling with activity on Saturdays from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, inviting visitors to stroll, browse, buy, and enjoy. Younger visitors are certainly not forgotten: On all market days, at dusk, St. Nicholas makes an impressive appearance by boat across the adjacent Eiserbachsee lake. This musical spectacle is sure to put everyone in a festive mood, not just the children. St. Nicholas brings a surprise for every child with his well-filled sack of gifts. The vendors offer a colorful and extensive selection: handcrafted items made of wood, fabric, and wool; Beeswax products, jewelry, Christmas wreaths and arrangements, Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) items, and other gift items of all kinds, such as silk scarves, printed textiles, etc., are available. Stalls offer a variety of food and drink, including kale with smoked sausage, Dutch oven roast beef with noodles, potato pancakes, bratwurst, boiled sausage, French fries, Eifel-style bread and cheese, crepes, waffles, and various soups. And what no Christmas market should be without warms hearts in Rurberg as well: mulled wine, Feuerzangenbowle (a traditional German mulled wine punch), and many other beverages. The exhibition of animal and landscape painter Udo Bongard is located in the Rurberg National Park and at the Tourist Information Center at the Christmas market. Ample parking, including for buses, is available nearby. The "Rurberg Seeufer" bus stop for line 68 is directly adjacent to the market grounds.

The Rursee Festival was founded in 1965. Since then, it has grown year after year, becoming bigger and better. In 2022, "Rursee in Flames" proudly reported over 50,000 visitors – enjoying perfect summer weather at Lake Rursee. Right from the start of the festival, the bouncy castles and carousels on the Rurberg lakeshore attract many families. Throughout the afternoon, concerts take place on both lakeside roads. Visitors are also well catered for with outdoor food and drink stands, barbecues, and stalls offering local specialties along the lakeshore. On Saturday, the festivities are enhanced by lakeside illuminations and festive lighting on the houses in Rurberg, complemented by the colorful glow of numerous illuminated sailboats and passenger ships. The absolute highlight of Saturday evening is undoubtedly the spectacular fireworks display over Lake Rursee in Rurberg. After the last colorful spark of fire has gone out, the festival is far from over, because the pulsating activity on the lakeside streets guarantees good entertainment until late into the night.
