The Rurberg Christmas Market takes place in accordance with the current COVID-19 regulations of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
During the first three weekends of Advent,
more than 20 Christmas market stalls open their doors with a variety of delicious and tempting treats and plenty of festive atmosphere.

The Christmas market invites you to browse, look, shop and enjoy on Saturdays from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Our younger visitors are in for a treat, too:
On every market day, at dusk, St. Nicholas makes a spectacular boat arrival for them across the nearby Eiserbachsee.
Accompanied by music, this scene puts everyone in a festive mood—not just the children.
St. Nicholas brings a surprise for every child in his generously filled sack.
The vendors offer a colorful and varied selection: handmade items made of wood, fabric and wool; beeswax products, jewelry, Christmas wreaths and arrangements, Erzgebirge crafts, and all kinds of other gifts, such as silk scarves, printed textiles, and more.
Food stalls serve kale with Mettwurst, Dutch oven onion beef with noodles, potato pancakes, bratwurst, boiled sausages, French fries, Eifel-style bread, crêpes, waffles, and a variety of soups.
And no Christmas market would be complete without warming drinks to lift your spirits: Rurberg also serves mulled wine, Feuerzangenbowle and many other drinks.
An exhibition by animal and landscape painter Udo Bongard will be held at the
Rurberg National Park or Tourist Information Office at the Christmas market.
Ample parking, including bus parking, is available

Rursee in Flames
Rurseefest was founded in 1965. Since then, it has grown year after year, becoming bigger and better. In 2022, “Rursee in Flammen” welcomed the proud number of more than 50,000 visitors—with glorious summer weather at Lake Rursee.
From the very start of Rurseefest, bouncy castles and carousels on the shore of Lake Rurberg attract many families to Lake Rursee. In the afternoon, concerts take place along both lakeside roads. Food and drink are also well catered for, with outdoor bars and barbecue grills, as well as stalls selling local specialities along the lakefront.
Saturday’s festivities are rounded off with lakeside lighting and festive illuminations on the houses in Rurberg, complemented by the colourful glow of the many illuminated sailboats and passenger boats.
The absolute highlight of Saturday evening is undoubtedly the fireworks display over Lake Rursee in Rurberg.
When the last colourful spark has faded, the festival is far from over: the lively atmosphere along the lakeside roads guarantees great entertainment late into the night.
